Back Again

It has been a bit too long since I've written in my blog. Over a year... which is understandable since I really don't like to write that much. However, I've found that since I've moved to Tennessee... well... lets just say I don't want to loose my ability to read, write, or speak English.
I suppose a quick recap of the last year or so is necessary. I completed my thesis and received my Master's Degree in Nuclear Engineering. I got a job and, as mentioned, moved to Tennessee. I think that covered it pretty well.
There are a quite a few things that I would like to accomplish this year. Some of them are getting back into working out on a steady basis, eating more, and learning Spanish. This would all be easy if I didn't work 40 hours a week.
I've just now getting my workouts in order. I purchased some equipment so that I can come home and workout, which I find to be easier and less time consuming than having to go to a gym after work.
I have not been eating enough, because I don't have a lot of time to cook, and I don't believe in eating out every day. I've come to prepare food on Sunday, and eat it during the week, but after about 2 days of eating the same thing, I am tired of eating it... so I'm still working on that.
For learning Spanish I was planning on purchasing some software to help me, however, I decided that it would probably be just as effective and much cheaper if I used flash cards, books, CD's, etc. Again the time work requires is tending to be a big obstacle for me to overcome.
Having a job has made me more effective with managing my time, since I have far less to work with. It has also made me more impatient and I need to keep that in check. I figure I'll adjust eventually.

Summer '10

For the most part, summer has been, as it should be, relaxing. I have been doing research, which I enjoy, except for the occasional writing. I started a workout routine at the beginning of summer where I worked out 5 days a week. It ended after I came back from my 10 days in Miami, due to Summer League on the same days and me not wanting to kill myself. So its now back to 3 days a week... for now.
Summer League has been fun. Getting to play Ultimate with my friends and such. But I don't think I'll do it again. A bit too much of a hassle to get to the fields, especially when you're leaving during rush hour.
I've gained a bit more respect for long term relationships as well as an understanding of the good and the not so good of them. The 10 days in Miami was a very much needed and very much awesome break from the distance. A lot of beach, food, sun, and girl (:D). Now, I'm looking forward to her return to Atlanta.

Well now

So this year has been going well. School isn't as hectic as it has been in the past and I'm enjoying my research. My research now is involving creation of response functions for the energy deposition of a detector. A lot of coding, which I enjoy. And I'll be heading to a meeting in Florida after spring break to discuss the project that my research is involved with.
I'm still working out, though now by myself. But I don't mind since I can workout whenever. I'm not playing Ultimate as much. I think it has to do with the fact that everyone else that is playing is on club and its taken away from what it has been in the past. There are fewer and fewer new people coming to pickup, which was a major part of the fun of it and the atmosphere has changed.
Haven't been home since the beginning of the year, but I'll be going home next week for a few days. Looking forward to seeing my siblings.
The last two weeks have been, in a good way, both very interesting and different. I'm happier, my mind is in less chaos, and a new puzzle is in my hands that I have the opportunity to solve.

Paths End

When you come to the end of the path, what will you be thinking about?

Surprises

Life is always full of surprises... and they are not always good. But at least something can be learned from them. And from the knowledge, there is potential to make good.

Crackers

I have an addiction to crackers. I would consider myself the cracker monster but that is not only sounds pejorative but also sounds like I'm the retarded cousin of the cookie monster.
I have to say that a triscuit is not a cracker, it is in fact nasty crap. Whomever created that horrible abomination is a sick and twisted individual and should be bludgeoned to death by his own creation. Surprisingly enough it is on par with crunchy nuggets as both have initiated my gagging reflexes as I attempted to ingest them.

Falls beginning

Since school has started it has been somewhat hectic around the house getting everything figured out. But it has begun to settle itself out. With 5 people in a small house, it would seem there would be a lot of problems, surprisingly there are few at all. No one has flipped out yet which is good. My bets are on the Korean snapping first and going all Kim Jong-Il on us all. Hopefully the Cuban won’t snap either or well have to deal with Fidel Castro too.

As for school, it doesn’t seem to be as bad as it was last spring. No lab and I have time to do other stuff wile still getting my work done. Tuesdays and Thursdays are long though. 4.5 hours of lecture. Three of which are consecutive. And my last class I have a professor who board notes are unorganized and it gets irritating to follow him. And his walking around holding his hand behind his back makes him look like a Chinese general.
